Method

Round Robin – Writing

In groups, students take turns answering a question or challenge. The answers are written down to create a long list.

This method ensures every student’s voice is heard and the list can be used in their further investigation work.

1

Choose one person in the group to write down the answers.

2

Ask a question or pose a challenge that invites many brief responses.

3

Give students thinking time and designate who will start answering the question or challenge.

4

The answer is written down before the next student gives their response.

5

Continue until every student has had a turn and a long list of answers is created.

Didactic tips

  • Optionally, have the writing role rotate in the same way students take turns answering.
  • Explain what the list will be used for afterward, to make expectations about the writing clear.
