METHOD

Partner Match

Students pair up based on some random and quirky criteria.

This method is good for mixing students with classmates they might not normally choose. At the same time, it helps students notice and connect with each other across the class.

1

The students line up on the floor.

2

Select a criterion from the inspiration card Criteria for partner match.

3

At the signal, students pair up according to the selected criterion.

4

Help the last students find a partner, even if they don’t match according to the criterion.

Didactic tips:

  • If there is an odd number of students, create a single group of 3 or join in the activity yourself.
  • Ask students to raise their hands until they have found a partner. This will make it easier for the last students to find each other.
  • The method can also be used to form groups of 3 or more.
