Cards Food Footprint – instructions

The Game Board for Environmental Footprint Cards is an interactive learning tool designed to help students and the wider public better understand the environmental impact of food.

By placing the cards on the board, users can compare different foods and drinks in terms of:

  • Land use (m²) – how much land is needed for production,

  • Water use (L) – how much water is consumed,

  • Carbon footprint (kg CO₂) – the greenhouse gas emissions from production to consumption.

The playmat makes learning visual and engaging. It encourages discussion, teamwork, and critical thinking about food choices, linking directly to SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG 13: Climate Action.

Perfect for classrooms, workshops, or awareness campaigns, the board transforms data into a playful, hands-on activity that inspires sustainable thinking and action.
