The students arrange pictures with different clothing through history in three different criteria: most natural fabrics, how many pieces of clothing they owned and in which era the clothes were worn.
The intention is for students to explore how clothing and fashion have changed through history by analysing images of different garments. They will learn to recognise changes in materials, the number of clothing items people owned, and the time period in which the clothes were worn.
Tell students the instructions: You’ll be divided in groups. Each group will get 7 pictures with clothing in different history eras. Arrange them in three different criteria: most natural fabrics, how many pieces of clothing they owned and in which era the clothes were worn from oldest to latest. For each criteria write the order of numbers as you think it’s the right one. Argument your choice. At the end each group will have presentations of the results.
Divide students in groups using the Competency Groups method. Each group pick a team leader and a writer.
Give them them all the pictures.
For each criteria they write down the order and the arguments for each choice.
The team leaders present their findings using the Phase Gallery method.

Printed pictures with clothing from different history eras (prehistoric, ancient, middle ages, baroque, industrial revolution, 20th century, today) for each group of students. Pictures need to be randomly numbered.
