Eat breakfast together

The students prepare and eat a healthy breakfast together while discussing what makes a balanced and sustainable meal.

The intention is To raise awareness of healthy eating habits and help students understand the importance of a nutritious breakfast for well-being and learning.

Planning (10 min) – In small groups, decide what foods to include from different food groups – Brainstorming.

Preparation (20 min) – Prepare and set up a healthy breakfast table together.

Eating & Sharing (15 min) – Eat together, share ideas about healthy choices, and reduce food waste.

Optional: Reflection (10 min) – Discuss: How did this meal make you feel? What choices support a sustainable lifestyle? Students receive their Healthy breakfast worksheet to think about their own eating habbits.

Didactic tips:

  • Let students bring one healthy ingredient from home.
  • Adapt difficulty by having younger students identify food groups, while older ones calculate nutritional balance.
  • Extend activity by creating posters promoting healthy breakfasts at school.
  • Tip: after a whole lesson series, eat breakfast again and measure the impact
