ACTIVITY

Field trip to the local second hand shop

The students visit a local secondhandshop to map out and collect data of what is being sold of clothes and what items are most presented.

The intention is to map out and collect data about what is being donated the most in secondhand shops, what they cannot get rid off, what is most polluting and what is happening after the clothes do not get sold.

1

Find a secondhand shop together with students near the school that can be visited.

2

Using theĀ User Interview method, students craft questions to interview the shopkeeper. Back-up questions to assist the students:

  • What item is being sold the most?
  • What is the most expensive type of clothing item?
  • What materials are being sold?
  • What are gender differences in consumption?
  • What type of brands (fast fashion vs high end brands)?
  • What happens with the items that do not get sold?
3

Each group presents the findings using theĀ 3-Point Presentation method.

4

Map out the found results together.
