Description: Students explore how humans use movement, rhythm and gestures to communicate emotions and messages without words. They create and perform their own symbolic “dance language”, inspired by the communication of bees.
Intention: Students explore how movement can become a shared system of meaning and learn how communication depends on both expressing and interpreting signals.
Emotion in Motion
In pairs, students create a short sequence of movements expressing a specific feeling or message, such as joy, frustration, urgency, warning or curiosity.

Create Your Human Dance Language
In small groups, students design a 30–60 second choreography combining elements of bee communication with human expression.
Their choreography should communicate a clear message without words.
Encourage them to consider:
Give groups time to create, test and improve their choreography.
Perform & Interpret
Groups perform their choreography without explaining the message beforehand.
After each performance, the audience first tries to interpret it:
The performing group then reveals their intended message.
Briefly discuss the difference between what was intended and what was understood.
