Each pupil votes individually for one idea, suggestion, or solution, and the one with the most votes wins.
This method is quick, simple, and ensures that the idea, suggestion, or solution most preferred by the majority of pupils is selected.
Present the ideas, suggestions, or solutions that pupils will choose from. Ensure that everyone understands the proposals and has the opportunity to ask questions before voting.
Each pupil has one vote, which they can use for their preferred idea or solution. The voting can be secret, with pupils writing their choice on a ballot paper or slip of paper, or ‘public’, for example by a show of hands.
Collect and count the votes.
The idea or solution that receives the most votes is selected.
Consider discussing the results with the class and why the chosen suggestion received the most support.
If several ideas receive the same number of votes, the Run-Off Voting method can be used, where a new vote is held among the ideas sharing first place.
To increase engagement, pupils can first discuss the suggestions in groups before casting their votes.
Digital tools like Mentimeter or Kahoot can make the voting visually engaging and quick.
This method is used, among other activities, in activity XXX.
