The students prepare and hold a game festival where they present and play the games they have developed. Guests can be other students, teachers or external participants who test the games and provide feedback.
The intention is for the students to experience their games in practice, get feedback from players and reflect on how their games work in a real game situation.
Explain to the students that they are going to hold a game festival where others will try their games.
The students organize the game festival as a fair, where each group has a game station with their games.
The guests (other students, teachers or external guests) arrive. The students introduce the guests to the game festival.
With the Café Presentation method, students in their group take turns being game hosts, explaining the rules and helping players get started. Students who are not game hosts go around testing the other games with the guests.
Guests provide feedback after they have tried the game. Use the 4-Feedback method or Two Stars and a Wish with accompanying worksheets to frame guest feedback.
The guests move on to a new group. They continue to move around for an allotted time or a predetermined number of rounds.
The students thank the guests for their feedback, and the guests leave the game festival.
Debrief with students on how they experienced it. Give students time in their groups to read and respond to the feedback they have received.
