The students listen to the teacher’s statements about food waste and stand up if the statement applies to them or if they agree.
The intention is to activate students, stimulate reflection on food waste in everyday life, and build awareness of personal choices and experiences.
Teacher explains the rules: listen carefully and Stand up if.. if the statement applies or if you agree.
Teacher reads a Stand Up If… Food Waste Statements, e.g.:
– “I have thrown away food at home in the past week.”
– “I sometimes take more food than I can eat.”
– “I know the difference between ‘best before’ and ‘use by’.”
– “I think the school canteen should help reduce food waste.”
– “I would eat leftovers the next day to avoid waste.”
Students stand up to show their agreement or personal experience.
Short reflection: Teacher highlights key observations and encourages discussion.
